Theory and practice
Professional training in a professional environment

From the very start of my professional career, my personal goal was to maintain a strong practical focus. My vocational training as a cosmetics specialist provided the perfect start and soon I discovered my special interest in feet. After my two-year vocational training and an internship at the dermatology department of university hospital Halle/Saale for further training, Ruck-Knörzer’s large podiatric practice in Pforzheim offered the perfect workplace in order to learn from scratch and to gain all the experience required to master this profession.

I did not have to think twice when I was offered the opportunity to work as a subject teacher at the podiatric school that had just opened in 1998. For eight years, I taught podiatry in theory and practice, worked also as seminar lecturer, and co-wrote the “Handbook of medical foot care” and many articles that were published on a national and international level.

In 2006, I was offered the position of school director. I have accepted this challenge and never regretted it. The great advantage of our school is not only the broad experience of our teachers and lecturers but also the close linkage of theory and practice. Many of our graduates confirm this fact as well as the medical doctors and hospitals they work with.

Tradition and knowledge

“Nobody learns anything just from listening, and if someone is not prepared to go the extra mile, knowledge might remain superficial.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

It is one of the trademarks of our school to continually alternate between theory and practice. We agree with Goethe and are convinced that only a balanced interaction between theoretical and practical knowledge transfer provides a solid foundation for a qualified training.

In Germany, our podiatry school was the first of its kind. Just like our enterprise can look back on an 85-year old tradition, our podiatry school has managed in the past 15 years of its existence to build an outstanding reputation far beyond Germany’s borders. The spacious conversion of the school premises in the past year is not setting standards for professional teaching and learning conditions in an unique ambience.

We would be pleased to welcome you personally so that you can gain a personal impression of our promising training and our “new” school. Please do not hesitate to contact our school director, our teachers, or us - we will take time to answer your questions and are confident that we can enthuse you with our future-oriented training courses.
